Meet Roze

We’re mixing it up a little with our last Inside Catalyst feature of 2017 to reveal a little more about the woman single-handedly responsible for keeping Catalyst evening classes going…Roze Murphy. I met Roze when she joined one of the first kettlebell classes I taught. A few weeks later I made the mistake of joining her for an evening personal training session and got my a$$ handed to me (she still puts me to shame at V-Ups!). Roze works harder than anyone I know, bouncing between attending early AM Catalyst classes, a full-time “day job” at the U, and teaching again at Catalyst at night…and keeping Craig in line at home. Her natural curiosity, love for fitness, and work ethic made her an easy instructor choice for us when she became a StrongFirst-certified in 2015, and the rest is history!  Read on to find out more: favorite move (not burpees!), essential food, and what she’s working on in 2018.

How long have you been at Catalyst and what keeps you coming back?

Screen Shot 2017-12-29 at 10.58.30 AMI have had the privilege of experiencing and learning kettlebells with Steph and Cara prior to the start of Catalyst, so I can say I have been with Catalyst since the beginning (7 plus years ago). Everything about Kettlebell keeps me coming back. I love the continued learning and challenge that kettlebells have to offer .

What’s your favorite strength move?

I can’t say I have 1 favorite strength move because I love all the Kettlebell moves, but if I must pick 1 o 2 I will start with the Kettlebell get up and double bell front squat.
